New Principal’s Message

Dear Windsor Community,

As Windsor Elementary’s new Principal, I am looking forward to getting to know everyone in our school community. First, I would like to thank Ms. Aujla for her support and wish her all the best at her new school.

I know this may take some time, given today’s Covid-19 situation, but I want everyone to know that the school and our district is doing everything they can to provide learning opportunities and support for our students and families.

Please refer to the Burnaby school district’s website for updated information on this evolving and fluid situation.

It is my pleasure to work with a dedicated team of teachers, education assistants, and support staff to help make a positive impact for every learner in our care.  I am committed to engaging with students in a positive way and working with “parents as partners” in educating their children.  In addition to rigorous academic programming we offer students a variety of extra-curricular and service opportunities, and develop students’ social-emotional learning, as well. We strive to create the conditions for all learners, children and adults, to be actively engaged in purposeful learning in a community of belonging and inclusion.

Parents are a vital part of the school community and we invite you to take an active role in your child’s education. You may book an appointment with your child’s teacher in person (before or after school) or by calling the school office (604-296-9038).  Please talk to your child’s teacher about classroom volunteering and be sure to participate in our Parent Advisory Council (PAC). All parents are members of PAC and encouraged to attend meetings and join committees.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to serving the Windsor school community.

Sincerely,

Dave Heard

Principal
